I’m focused on building a stronger, more connected Ogden—through smart economic development, safe neighborhoods, responsible budgeting, and vibrant recreational opportunities. From the revitalization of WonderBlock downtown to needed continued investment on 12th Street and Five Points, I support growth that benefits all parts of our city. I’m proud to work alongside our highly trained, hardworking public safety professionals to keep our community safe. With four budget cycles behind me, I take a careful, transparent approach to every financial decision—helping Ogden maintain top-tier bond ratings and strong fiscal health. And as the outdoor capital of the world, Ogden’s natural beauty is one of our greatest assets. I’m committed to protecting and enhancing our trails, parks, and public spaces for everyone to enjoy.
When I was first elected to represent District 3, Ogden was facing real challenges in our public safety departments — high turnover, low staffing, and strained resources in both police and fire. As a council, we made it our top priority to change that, because nothing is more important than keeping our community safe.
Supporting our officers, investing in recruitment, and creating a culture where those who protect and serve Ogden know they are valued. Today, the Ogden Police Department is fully staffed for the first time in years — with more than 150 officers, many of whom chose Ogden over other agencies, in part, because of the strong support from city leadership.
It’s the result of collaboration between the mayor’s office, the City Council, and incredible police leadership. The Ogden Police Department exemplifies The Ogden Way — a culture of professionalism, accountability, and care for officers and their families. That means faster response times, stronger community relationships, and ultimately, safer streets.
I know the work isn’t done. As your councilmember, I will continue to make public safety my number one priority. Together, we’ll ensure that Ogden remains a safe, strong, and thriving community for every family and neighborhood.
I’m committed to smart, balanced growth that benefits all of Ogden. The revitalization of our downtown through the WonderBlock project is a major step forward, bringing new energy, housing, and business opportunities to the heart of our city. I’m also focused on supporting much needed investment in the North end—particularly along 12th Street and at Five Points—to help create vibrant, thriving neighborhoods across the entire community.
I believe residents deserve clear communication and confidence in how their tax dollars are used. Ogden has consistently earned high marks from independent auditors and maintains some of the highest bond ratings in the state—saving the city millions in borrowing costs. I’ve now been through four budget cycles, taking painstaking and deliberate steps to ensure every decision balances the needs of a growing city with long-term financial responsibility.
Ogden is the outdoor capital of the world, blessed with incredible natural assets like the Ogden River and River Parkway, easy access to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, and close proximity to Snowbasin, Powder Mountain, and Nordic Valley ski resorts. The new Marshall N. White Community Center, a $35 million investment, offers a vibrant hub for health, fitness, and community programs. I’m committed to protecting and enhancing these spaces, so that everyone can enjoy quality recreation.
